A book titled "Times and Life of Vekuii Rukoro" has been officially launched in Windhoek, marking a significant tribute to the late Vekuii Rukoro's lifetime and achievements.

This biography is intended to serve as an inspiration for young Namibians, illustrating how the late Ombara Otjitambi Vekuii Rukoro ascended from the townships of Otjiwarongo's Orwetoweni and Katutura to become one of Namibia's most remarkable figures and accomplished individuals.

One of the book's authors, Rukee Tjingaete, emphasised that Rukoro's life story exemplifies what a Namibian from a non-privileged background can accomplish through unwavering dedication and hard work. It's a narrative of triumph over the adversities of the apartheid settler-colonial system, marked by its inherent racism.

Tjingaete also noted that the late Rukoro managed to break through the formidable barriers of white-monopoly capital, achieving success against the odds. The book, a culmination of three years of meticulous work, encompasses ten chapters that delve into various aspects of the late Rukoro's life, including his upbringing, education, career, and his role in the chieftainship. Notably, Rukoro actively contributed to the book's content from 2020 until his passing in 2021, ensuring that his story was faithfully represented.

Vitura Kavari, the co-author, acknowledged that following Rukoro's passing, they had to adjust the book's narrative to reflect his life and accomplishments posthumously.

The book stands as a heartfelt dedication to the late Advocate Rukoro, whose legacy continues to inspire and resonate with the people of Namibia.
