The Rundu Annual Trade Fair officially kicked off, attracting 114 companies and individuals, compared to 103 exhibitors last year.

Exhibitors came from all corners of the country as well as from Tanzania.

Some of them are taking part for the first time.

Officiating at the event, Rundu Trade Fair Patron and Minister of Works and Transport, John Mutorwa, encouraged the town council to invest the proceeds from the fair to maintain historic buildings and places in the region.

Mutorwa further stressed that in three years' time, Rundu will turn 90, and this calls for change in terms of the town's development.

The sixth edition of the Rundu trade fair is being held under the theme "Innovation and Investment: Paving the Way to Rundu Towns Revived Economic Prosperity".

The FNB Rundu is the main sponsor of the trade fair.
