President Mbumba to attend union of Tanganyika and Zanzibar anniversary

President Nangolo Mbumba left for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, today to attend the 60th Anniversary Commemoration of Union Day of the United Republic of Tanzania.

The event celebrates the union of Tanganyika and Zanzibar into the United Republic of Tanzania.

President Mbumba received an invitation from his Tanzanian counterpart, President Samia Saluhu Hassan, to attend the significant milestone in Tanzanian history. 

Union Day commemorates the merger of the Independent States of Tanganyika and Zanzibar on April 26, 1964, establishing the United Republic of Tanzania.

Rundu Annual Trade Fair attracts exhibitors from Tanzania

The Rundu Annual Trade Fair officially kicked off, attracting 114 companies and individuals, compared to 103 exhibitors last year.

Exhibitors came from all corners of the country as well as from Tanzania.

Some of them are taking part for the first time.

Officiating at the event, Rundu Trade Fair Patron and Minister of Works and Transport, John Mutorwa, encouraged the town council to invest the proceeds from the fair to maintain historic buildings and places in the region.
