Deputy Director of Democracy Building Marilyn Kazetjikuria says the Electoral Commission of Namibia's (ECN) mock voter registration in Rundu went without a glitch.

"We are very happy with the performance of the system, and we are very happy with the turnout of the people."

The purpose of the exercise was to test the real-time functionality and usability of the enhanced and upgraded Integrated Mobile Voter Registration System in preparation for the General Registration of Voters in 2024.

"We look at the functionality of the system itself, which has been good. We also look at the duration that the voter has to spend at the registration venue when they go and register, which has reduced tremendously. It's a good system. We are looking forward to next year, when we are going to implement it fully."

The three-day mock registration, which was carried out in Ndama, Kehemu, and Sauyemwa, saw close to 200 people registering by Friday afternoon.
