The National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO) says the party has a lot to do to improve its national-level rankings ahead of the November 2024 elections.

These are the views of party President Dr. Utjiua Muinjangue during a press briefing and welcome of new members at Okahitua Village in the Okakarara Constituency.

Dr. Muinjangue says the party is now hard at work to reach out to other regions to register non-Otjiherero-speaking members to increase its power base.

Currently, NUDO has three serving mayors, one deputy mayor, and one chairperson at the local authority level, while at the regional level, the party holds seats in four constituencies.

"Initially, it was a party for Herero, but now we are a home for all Namibians. So that shows, and it's a sign that the party is growing. It's a party that has potential to grow; the opportunities are out there for us to improve as a party, which is why my excitement this morning or this afternoon, especially to welcome you, our news members, to the NUDO party, In fact, you are coming back home", says Dr. Muinjangue.

The party president reiterated that members must unite, drive its agenda, and groom new members.

At the meeting, Muinjangue welcomed ten new members.

"The party NUDO is bigger than any individual; it's bigger than Utjiua; it's bigger than whoever. And for the sake of the institution, we should put aside our differences and work hard to grow the party. Now the numbers are important, because the numbers give you strength, numbers give you power, and numbers contribute financially to any political party."

Dr. Muinjangue also highlighted the successes of the party, saying since taking office, there have been sound financial reports, the purchase of one vehicle, the renovation of assets, and the recruitment of members from Kavango, Zambezi, and Oshana regions.
