Learners from People's Primary School in Katutura had an exciting opportunity to engage with the Richelieu Eagles in Ashburton Kwata Mini Cricket action. The Richelieu Eagles are currently hosting the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers, where they will compete against Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe for a spot in next year's ICC T20 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies and USA.

After starting their campaign with a seven-wicket victory over the Chevrons from Zimbabwe, the players took some time off to enjoy a fun-filled day with the learners. For these children, the players are national heroes who inspire them to pursue a career in the sport. Sharing the same court with their heroes is a memory that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Sydney Mutelo, the cricket coach at People's Primary School, expressed his delight in having the Richelieu Eagles visit his school. The presence of the Eagles brought joy and excitement to the learners.

In addition to the visit from the Richelieu Eagles, players from the Ugandan national team also had some memorable moments with learners from Auas Primary School. Jona Ambuga, the national coordinator of the Ashburton Kwata Mini Cricket program, facilitated these interactions.

This week, three primary schools were visited, with three more schools scheduled to be visited on November 28th. These visits provide valuable opportunities for learners to engage with professional cricketers, fostering their passion for the sport and inspiring them to reach for their dreams.
