The Nkurenkuru Town Council is faced with financial constraints that are slowing down the town's development process.

Jafet Markes Muti shared this during his acceptance address as re-elected mayor of Nkurenkuru Town Council.

Muti stressed that the Nkurenkuru Town Council needs more money to acquire land for the town's development.

The mayor called on all business people who acquired land for business to start with construction.

He says this will not only improve the town's development, but it will also reduce the unemployment rate.

Muti highlighted the council's achievements in terms of development.

"Construction of Nkurenkuru open market phase one is completed; completion of our Nkurenkuru expo phase one is completed; and the council provides water. We are expanding to provide water to the resident kulisuka settlement, Mayara, and Kahenge, which is still ongoing. It is still ongoing because the location is becoming bigger and the council must just provide water to them."

Muti's deputy is Fanu Kaundu, who was also re-elected to the position.

Robert Mayina Katura and Helena Pandureni Kaveto were elected as members of the management committee, while Engeluse Liveve secured his position as the chairperson of the management committee.

Nkurenkuru is the youngest region and has been in existence for about ten years now.
