Toady Gurirab, the President of the Namibia Amateur Golf Union, recently shared his insights on the events and developments that unfolded at the Windhoek Golf and Country Club throughout 2023.

The year brought about significant changes and challenges for the club.

One of the major obstacles faced by the club was an exorbitant monthly water bill of approximately N$120,000.

However, there was a glimmer of hope as the City of Windhoek stepped in to assist the club by facilitating the drilling of a borehole, a project that is still underway.

In addition to this, the club experienced a rise in the number of golfers who joined its ranks, signifying a growing interest in the sport within the community.

One of the notable occurrences in amateur golf during 2023 was the appointment of Toady Gurirab as the new President of the Namibia Amateur Golf Union.

Gurirab outlined his vision for the future of golf in Namibia.

Throughout the year, the Windhoek Golf and Country Club successfully hosted over 14 golf championships, showcasing their dedication to promoting the sport and providing opportunities for golfers to compete and excel.

As the golf calendar year of 2023 draws to a close, the Windhoek Golf and Country Club can reflect on the progress made, the challenges overcome, and the excitement generated through a thriving golfing community.
