Zambezi residents joined the rest of the country in remembering the third President of Namibia, Dr. Hage Geingob.

Zambezi Regional Governor, Alufea Sampofu, remembers the late Geingob as a champion of the poor and a people's servant.

Governor Sampofu described the late President Geingob as an excellent administrator and an A-Team leader who paved the way for Namibia's independence under difficult circumstances.

"President Hage Geingob was a person who encouraged everybody to do well, everybody to do their best, everybody to be under the rule of law, not to be bossy or whatever; he was very strict on that one that we should work hard so that we save the people; he was serious with service delivery to the community of the grassroots; and for those reasons, we lost a man, a visionary leader, a disciplinarian, a leader who made sure that, as he used to say, no one is left out, a people's person who has people's problems at heart."

Heartbroken residents shared their reflections on the country's deceased leader.
