The Bukalo Village Council organised a candlelight service on Thursday night to pay tribute to the late President Dr. Hage Geingob, commemorating him as their leader, father, and inspiration.

The ceremony attracted a large number of residents of the village and those from neighbouring villages, as well as some from Katima Mulilo.

The Masubia Senior Councillor, Ngambela, Albius Milinga, noted that the Munitenge Royal Establishment remembers the late president as one who had a passion for the people.

Other residents also felt that he had gone too soon, as he provided valuable lessons to them.

Oscar Lilungwe remembers Dr. Geingob when he skipped the queue to shake hands with the president. His mannerisms were noticed by the late President, who asked him what he wanted to become when he grew up.
