In a touching display of solidarity and cultural support, the Aukoredi visited the former First Lady Monica Geingos to offer their condolences and provide her with traditional Damara attire for mourning.

The gesture was aimed at honouring the local customs and traditions.

Since 2016, the Aukoredi has shared a friendship with the First Lady, characterised by the exchange of traditional Damara dresses and engagement in cultural activities.

However, in light of the recent death of the President, the group presented the Geingos with a traditional black Damara dress, a black !haib, which is headgear, and a kalib, which is a shawl.

The group explained to the former First Lady the cultural importance of wearing black attire during the mourning period.

These items hold great significance in the local culture and are traditionally worn during mourning periods.

This demonstration of cultural solidarity was a moving reminder of the deep-rooted traditions and customs that provide strength and support during times of grief.
