President Nangolo Mbumba undertook his first visit outside Namibian borders to Angola.

The visit is meant to be an introductory occasion since President Mbumba assumed office as Namibia's 4th President and to strengthen partnerships.

The visit demonstrates the solid historical relationship between the two nations.

President Mbumba will also express gratitude to Angolan President João Lourenço for his support following the passing of the late President Hage Geingob.

The late Dr. Geingob and Lourenço were in the process of discussing setting aside a day to hold the Bi-National Commission to strengthen people-to-people partnerships and trade relations, among others.

This will be discussed by Presidents Mbumba and Lourenço.

How the mining sectors of both countries can benefit citizens will also form part of the agenda.

Press Secretary Dr. Alfredo Hengari emphasised how Namibia and Angola can benefit from their economies and reinforce national interests.

As an emerging oil producer, Dr. Hengari states Namibia can learn lessons from Angola's experienced oil sector.
