The Star for Life organisation engaged Ella du Plessis High School girls on the importance of entrepreneurial skills.

The Star for Life was established in 2009 to reduce the risks of violence and sexual exploitation for girls as well as prepare them to be independent.

In addition, the programme is aimed at reducing the high rate of pregnancy among girls and educating them on the effects of getting pregnant while in school.

Star for Life offers counselling, teenage pregnancy lessons, and education campaigns through a programme called Daughters of Africa.

The sponsor of the programme, Hilda Namundjebo, says that Star for Africa is an initiative that was established due to a lot of girls leaving schools prematurely at the time.

She says that this time around, the programme is empowering girls with entrepreneurship skills and assisting life skills teachers to be able to have sessions with every girl child.

The programme will soon involve the boy child.
