President Nangolo Mbumba, accompanied by First Lady Sustjie Mbumba, arrived in Botswana to attend the memorial of the late President Dr. Hage Geingob, scheduled to take place tomorrow in Gaborone.

Before the memorial, President Mbumba paid a courtesy visit to Botswana's President, Mokgweetsi Masisi.

The Minister in the Presidency, Christine ||Hoebes, says the trip of the President is also part of the familiarisation visits by the President to SADC countries since he took office.

His first trip was to Angola and Botswana, and next week he is expected to visit South Africa.

||Hoebes, who is part of the delegation attending the memorial of the late President, further says that the gesture of Botswana towards Namibia during the death of Geingob in material and kind has not gone unnoticed.

The government, she says, welcomed the gesture by Botswana to host a memorial service for the late President, a significant milestone towards the contribution of Dr. Hage Geingob.

Several officials, including the two Heads of State, are expected to attend the memorial service.
