Residents of Luderitz remembered late Swapo Party liberation struggle stalwart Ida Jimmy !Ha-Eiros as a fearless and selfless fighter for Namibia's independence at a memorial service held in the town.

Jimmy-!Ha-Eiros died on April 3 at the age of 79.

Delivering tributes at the memorial service, fellow party members reflected on their journey with Jimmy-!Ha-Eiros during the anti-apartheid struggle era.

Honouring and celebrating her life, mourners sang liberation songs in her memory.

Namibian Embassy in Belgium and the Netherlands hosts memorial for late President Geingob

Namibia's Embassy in the Kingdom of Belgium and the Netherlands, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and the Mission to the European Union will hold a memorial service for the late President Dr. Hage Geingob in the Netherlands.

The belated memorial service for Dr. Geingob will broadcast live this evening from half past eight.

Due to this live broadcast, the evening news bulletin will air at 19:00.

Dr. Geingob died on the 4th of February and was buried on the 25th of February.

Botswana to hold memorial service for late Geingob

President Nangolo Mbumba, accompanied by First Lady Sustjie Mbumba, arrived in Botswana to attend the memorial of the late President Dr. Hage Geingob, scheduled to take place tomorrow in Gaborone. 

Before the memorial, President Mbumba paid a courtesy visit to Botswana's President, Mokgweetsi Masisi.

The Minister in the Presidency, Christine ||Hoebes, says the trip of the President is also part of the familiarisation visits by the President to SADC countries since he took office.

President Nangolo Mbumba says the decision by Botswana's government to hold a memorial service for the late President Hage Geingob is a demonstration of historical ties between the two countries.

President Mbumba is leading the Namibian delegation, comprising a number of government officials, to the memorial service to be held in Botswana's capital, Gaborone, on Wednesday.

The Head of State will also pay a courtesy call on President Mokgweetsi Masisi after the memorial service.
