The residents of an informal transit settlement area, created by the Keetmanshoop Municipality for people on the waiting list to be allocated land, commended the Namibian Government for maintaining 34 years of peace and stability.
The Iileni informal settlement is a reception area set up by the Keetmanshoop municipality, which is home to nearly 800 people.
The nbc News team visited the area and spoke to a few inhabitants about how they would celebrate the country's 34th Independence Day.
