Prior to the start of its highly anticipated annual cultural festival, the PSTBET Windhoek Annual Cultural Festival, a prominent advocate for community vibrancy and cultural celebration, has reached out to support the women offenders at the Windhoek Correctional Service.

This year's festival theme, centered around women empowerment, highlights the festival's dedication to nurturing positive change and inclusivity within society.

Since its inception in 2019, the festival has been continuously evolving and growing.

This year, the festival has chosen to focus on empowering women as a show of gratitude.

Julia Shipingana, Superintendent of the Windhoek Correctional Service, commended the donors.

Many of these women were the primary breadwinners before their incarceration, and due to societal challenges and rejection, some now lack even the most basic hygiene necessities, they explain.

The purpose of this donation is to provide support for women in need.

Ndapewa Leonard, another participant, shared her excitement as she demonstrated the proper use of reusable sanitary pads to the women offenders.

Organizers have donated essential items for the female offenders, including soap bars, sanitary pads, reusable sanitary pads, toothbrushes, and face cloths.
