In its quest to reduce the ratio of four learners per textbook, the |Khomas Regional Council donated textbooks to primary and secondary schools in the Khomas Region.

The donation, with a value of N$2 million, aims to eradicate textbook shortages in schools.

To enrich the education sector, a total of 13,628 textbooks are donated to 84 schools in the |Khomas Region.

Textbooks include mathematics, English, geography, social studies, and history.

Some of the schools that benefited are Faith Primary School, Cimbebasia Primary School, Havana High School, Eldorado High School, and Mount View High School.

|Khomas Education Director Paulus Nghikembua says the number of learners keeps on increasing year after year, and this has resulted in a lack of textbooks per learner.

|Khomas Governor Laura McLeod-Katjirua says the textbooks can empower and mould future leaders.

Applauding the regional council, McLeod-Katjirua says the donation is not just books but a gift of knowledge, growth, and endless opportunities.

"The gift of knowledge contained within these textbooks is a powerful one. It can inspire, educate, and empower. It is a gift that keeps on giving, shaping young minds and paving the way for success and prosperity. With these books, we are not just providing information; we are providing opportunity. We are investing in the future of our children and our region."
