Former First Lady Monica Geingos has expressed gratitude to the public as she gets ready to resume duties as the Chairperson of the One Economy Foundation.
In a statement released yesterday, Geingos said she was grateful for the overwhelming support during the challenging months following the passing of President Hage Geingob and the "outpouring of love and solidarity received during a difficult time."
Geingos will gradually resume her duties as the Executive Chairperson of the One Economy Foundation, playing a limited public role as she adapts to her new reality, and the foundation's commitment to empowering youth, promoting education, supporting entrepreneurship, enhancing healthcare access, and combating gender-based violence remains unwavering.
The One Economy Foundation is a social welfare organisation that was launched by Monica Geingos, The 3rd First Lady of Namibia in May 2016 and aims to address structural poverty and the high levels of inequality in Namibia by serving as a bridge of socioeconomic opportunity and building an economy in which equality and shared prosperity thrive.
