The general registration of voters (GRV) started well in the Oshana Region, with only a few hiccups recorded at some of the registration points the nbc News team visited this morning.

The elderly and the young made their way to registration points to register on time to avoid last-minute registration.

Among the first people who woke up early to register at Omashaka puKamanya were Oshana Governor Elia Irimari, Ondangwa Urban Constituency Councillor Ronny Negonga, and two pensioners, Lahja Kornelius and Epifania Simon.

At that registration point, they had a problem with the camera, but a technician was called in to help.

At the Okandjengedhi Primary School registration point, we came across the Swapo Regional Coordinator in Oshana, Werner Iita, who called on Namibians to go out in numbers and register.

The ECN Regional Electoral Officer in Oshana, Amon-Oiva Haimbangu, gave us a briefing on how registration started in the entire region. He said everything started "very well in Oshana. We have several points across the region we have visited, and so far there have been a bit of technical issues in terms of the printing of cards, but luckily we have a committed team of technicians, and we have attended to most of those issues."

There are 129 registration points in the Oshana Region, with 41 teams and 164 registration officials, as well as a team of 15 technicians.
