General registration of voters (GRV) has started smoothly in the Kunene Region, with no technical problems experienced unlike in other constituencies.

Since June 3, more than 5000 eligible voters have registered to participate in the upcoming presidential and national assembly elections in November.

Mike Nganjone, the regional electoral officer in the Kunene Region, stated that everything has been going well since the beginning of the voter registration in his region, and no major challenges have been encountered.

The general registration of voters (GRV) started well in the Oshana Region, with only a few hiccups recorded at some of the registration points the nbc News team visited this morning.

The elderly and the young made their way to registration points to register on time to avoid last-minute registration.

Among the first people who woke up early to register at Omashaka puKamanya were Oshana Governor Elia Irimari, Ondangwa Urban Constituency Councillor Ronny Negonga, and two pensioners, Lahja Kornelius and Epifania Simon.

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has urged the public to register for the general registration of voters (GRV) exercise that started today, the 3rd of June, and ends on August 1.

Dr. Elsie Nghikembua made the call while registering at the MTC Head Quarter's registration point in Olympia, Windhoek, this morning.

The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) aims to register more than 1.7 million eligible voters during its upcoming General Registration of Voters exercise, starting next week.

With less than 200 days left before the national elections on November 27, Namibia's electoral management body says it is on track with the activities of the electoral calendar.

The general registration of voters (GRV) is around the corner and will be running for 52 days, from the 3rd of June until the first of August.
