Children from different children's homes in Windhoek gathered at SOS Children's Village to commemorate African Child Day today.

The commemoration of the main event took place in the Ohangwena Region.

However, children from Orlindi Place of Safely, Dolam Children Home, Namibia Children Home, Hope Village, and SOS Children's Village gathered to commemorate the day with various activities, such as cultural performances, drama and creative dance, and motivational speeches.

The day was further aimed at highlighting the need for safety and quality education for all children.

Reading the speech on behalf of the Minister of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare, Doreen Sioka, Khomasdal Constituency Councillor Samuel Angolo reminded the children of their responsibility.
