The Namibia Darts Federation is organizing a fundraising event to support their national team, which will participate in the African Championship end of  August in Matsapha, Eswatini.

The fundraising tournament will take place at the Action Arena next to the Olympia Swimming Pool in Windhoek on the 4th of August.

A total of 40 darts players from all corners of the country are expected to participate in the fundraising event, with a few prizes up for grabs.

According to Ryno De Jagger, a representative of the darts community, the funds raised will help cover travel and accommodation expenses for the team, which includes 30 players, coaches, and officials.

The Namibian Dart National team will compete against Southern African countries such as Angola, Botswana, the host Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

The one-day event will take place on August 25th.

The Federation's mission is to foster a love for darts among youth, juniors, seniors, and veterans in Namibia.

When approached off-camera about why the Sports Commission is not assisting the team traveling to Eswatini, the Commission's Chief Administrator, Freddy Mwiya, stated that the association must blame themselves as they failed to take the necessary steps to seek assistance.
