As the 2024 Olympic Games are set to commence from July 26 to August 11, Namibia has only four athletes competing in this year's multi-international sporting event, which will take place in Paris, France.

The Namibian athletes who qualified to represent the country at this year's Olympic Games have achieved outstanding results in their respective sports.

Helalia Johannes, a professional Namibian marathon runner, was born on August 12, 1980.

She specializes in marathon running and holds the Namibian records in the 10 km, 20 km, half marathon, and full marathon events.

She represented Namibia at the All African Games in 2011 and the Military World Games, where she captured bronze medals in both events.

Despite a valiant top-ten finish at the Vienna Marathon in April 2024, Helalia Johannes did not qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games.

However, due to her ranking and being the only Namibian athlete to compete in four Olympic Games, she will represent Namibia in the 2024 Olympic Games in France.

Vera Looser, a Namibian pro-cyclist, was born on October 28, 1993.

She is a road and mountain cyclist who recently rode for the UCI Women's Continental Team InstaFund Racing. Vera represented Namibia at the 2014 and 2016 Commonwealth Games and at the Summer Olympics in 2016.

She has won the Namibian National Time Trial Championship on seven occasions and the Namibian National Road Race Championship on ten occasions.

In February 2021, Vera Looser won the road race for the eighth time and the individual time trial for the sixth time.

She also won two bronze medals in the road race and time trial at the African Continental Championship in Cairo, securing her qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Alexander Miller, a Namibian pro-cyclist, was born on November 20, 2000.

He is a road cyclist and mountain biker who has won the Namibian National Road Race Championship and many other championships in road and mountain bike races, securing his spot in the 2024 Olympic Games.

He began his passion for biking at a very young age, with his first race occurring at the age of 13 in a half-marathon at Klein Aus Vista in 2014, and he continues to excel in his cycling career.

Finally, Philip Seidler, a Namibian professional swimmer, was born on March 25, 1998.

He qualified for his first Olympic Games participation by winning the 10 km open water swimming Olympic Trials, capturing a bronze medal in March 2021.

After finishing as the first African at the Aquatic World Championship 2024 in Doha, Qatar, he qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games.
