The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) is holding a two-day workshop at Otjiwarongo to capacitate its mobilizers ahead of the November elections to deliver impactful and effective political messages to the nation.

PDM's Secretary General Manuel Ngaringombe explained that the workshop is necessitated by changing political trends, which requires the party to be within sight of any changes to embrace them and apply them where necessary.

"The reason that you are here is that you have been nominated from all 14 political regions to be trained in becoming effective foot soldiers, mobilizers, and volunteers for the movement. You will be tasked after this workshop to go back to your respective regions and train and train others on the knowledge and skills you have gained from this workshop."

On the agenda were how to handle issues of fake news, mobilisation strategies, and building and advancing democracy.

The Secretary General also dispelled rumours of automatic endorsement of the party's top six.

"PDM will advance its democratic principles by going to its elective congress democratically. We are not an autocratic party; we are not these parties that say Congress must come just after elections so that I can have time to go to parliament. We will democratically elect new national leaders of the movement as per the PDM constitution."

PDM will hold its congress at Katima Mulilo from August 22 to 24.
