nbc Cares, in collaboration with local partners, held a charity event aimed at giving back to the community.

The heartwarming event is to distribute basic winter supplies to vulnerable community members during this harsh winter season.

nbc Cares, in collaboration with local partners, handed out 100 blankets and 500 cups of soup, bread, and juice.

The day was filled with compassion and the desire to connect with the community in a spirit of togetherness. 

Members of the public flocked to the B1 shopping centre in numbers to receive their items and enjoy music.

The event was also attended by Miss Namibia, Prisca Anyolo, who showed her kindness by assisting in the handing out of blankets.

Anyolo, who is also an activist for poverty alleviation, shares her sentiments with nbc.

"Honestly, it feels amazing to be here, it's a true blessing indeed to see that nbc Cares and the ONL group are putting their hands together to help alleviate poverty in our impoverished communities. We are here outside Katutura Hospital at B1 to hand out amazing soup and blankets. Seeing that, it is super cold and people are hungry. So I'm happy that this organisation sees my vision with regards to my advocacy, which deals with food security, the development of food security, as well as the alleviation of poverty eradication in our communities."

The locals also had the opportunity to engage and take pictures with Miss Namibia.
