Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says the Swapo Party will launch its election manifesto on September 14.

Nandi-Ndaitwah, who was addressing Swapo members at Swakopmund, says the party will only make genuine commitments they can deliver to the nation.

She says the manifesto will highlight job creation, housing, and poverty reduction.

"Because the person who has a job has a salary and will be able to take care of their housing, they will be able to take care of their families. These are the things that we are going to do. We are listening to our people, and we are going to address their challenges."

Another challenge mentioned was the education sector, which must speak to the needs of a Namibian child.

"We have to ensure that our schools are conducive to learning because the focus now is to improve the quality of education so that people can go to school, but we know our quality and why people are failing. We must address all these things, so these are the things to say. We need the Namibian people to trust us so that we can continue and close the gap."

She reminded the party members that development is a process, just as Rome was not built in one day.

"You will never finish it when you solve this one; another problem is coming. But we are ready to deliver, and we are up to the task; this is a product that you have produced for the Namibian people, and now you should make it for the Namibian people, and now what?"
