The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) has handed over a 5,000-litre water tank to the community of Chinchimane in the Zambezi Region.
PDM's President, McHenry Venaani, while handing over the donation, encouraged the community to use it for the benefit of all regardless of their political affiliation.
The donation came after the community of Chinchimane raised an issue of insufficient water tanks in the area.
"I am just here in Chinchimane to come and hand over this water facility to you; use it on behalf of the community; it is not a water tank for PDM members; it is not a water tank for councils; it is not a water tank for Swapo; it is a water tank for all the people of Namibia. When I give support, PDM or myself give support; we give support to our people; let the politics not divide us; let the family not divide us; this is an infrastructure given by the PDM president, but we are giving it to our people; whether you are a small party or a big party, a big councillor or a small councillor, everyone will use it for the benefit of the community."
Venaani said his party believes in development, hence the donation.
Receiving the donation, the Induna of Chinchimane, Patrick Zundamo, appreciated the donation, which he said was unexpected.
The PDM leader also handed over another water tank at Choi in the Kongola Constituency.
