In an effort to reclaim its title as the cleanest city in Africa, the City of Windhoek has officially launched the Mayoral Clean-up Campaign.

This initiative aims to restore the city's once-held position as the cleanest in the region. With the city's population steadily growing, it is crucial for residents to live in a clean and healthy environment. Acting Chief Executive Officer of the City of Windhoek, Jennifer Comalie, urged residents to actively participate in the clean-up campaign, which was inaugurated at the Soweto Market in Windhoek.

The campaign is complemented by the recently established Waste Buy-Back Centre in Katutura, which allows residents to sell their recyclable waste in exchange for incentives, contributing to a cleaner environment.
