The Embassy of Indonesia held a Harmony of Nusantara, the colors of Indonesia's cultural event, at the National Theatre of Namibia.
The event was aimed at fostering deeper connections and mutual benefit between Indonesia and Namibia by bringing together artists from both countries.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Namibia, Wisnu Edi Pratignyo, emphasised that the event marks a significant step in the embassy's ongoing commitment to cultural diplomacy.
He highlighted that the celebration not only showcases the rich cultures of both Namibia and Indonesia, but it also lays the foundation for future collaborations that embrace the diverse traditions of the two nations.
"Through this unique occasion, we are not only celebrating the rich heritage of both Namibia and Indonesia but also laying the groundwork for future collaborations that embrace our traditions. This serves as a platform of cultural exchange, allowing us to share stories, art, and experiences that show the beauty of our respected culture."
The Deputy Director for Lifelong Learning in the Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture, Gerard Vries, stated that the celebration is a shared cultural heritage and it serves to engage the Indonesian community in Namibia.
"This performance reaching both Namibian and Indonesian artists highlights our cultures and inspires and enriches one another."
The cultural event served as a platform to display traditional dances, art, and music from various regions of Indonesia and delegates from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
It also included musical collaborations highlighting the shared cultural ties between the two countries.
