Namibia Broadcasting Corporation Director General Stanley Similo recently praised regional staff for their dedication and contributions to the media industry, both in Namibia and beyond.

Employees from Otjiwarongo, Gobabis, and Tsumkwe gathered in Swakopmund for a staff appreciation event hosted by Similo and nbc's Senior Leadership Team.

The Director General emphasized the importance of recognizing employees’ efforts in creating a positive and productive work environment.

"I truly appreciate what you do and what you mean to me. It’s priceless,” said Similo. "We are so close to making NBC one of the best organizations, and we’ve reached a tipping point. There’s no going back."

Similo highlighted that the employees' hard work has significantly boosted the organization's value.

He noted that, in the past, many were hesitant to proudly display their company affiliation due to the broadcaster's low market standing.

"Today, nbc has no equal in Namibia, and I say that with absolute conviction," Similo stated. "However, this success comes with a price—we must remain ethical, honest, and truthful in everything we do."

Similo also stressed the importance of fostering trust within the organization, ensuring that every employee feels valued and supported.

"No one should feel reluctant to come to work because of a negative work environment," he added.

In response, Otjiwarongo Manager Samuel Kandjii praised Similo’s strategic leadership.

"When people mention nbc in the future, your name will be remembered. Visionaries pay the price to lead people to success, and you’ve embedded a growth mindset in us."

Kandjii acknowledged the challenges nbc has faced but applauded Similo for setting a high standard for the organization moving forward.

The event underscored a shared commitment to ethical practices and mutual appreciation, key values Similo believes are vital to nbc's ongoing success.
