A 29-year-old security guard died after he was stabbed with a knife at the Galaxy Mall, well known as the old mall at Rundu, yesterday morning.

It is alleged that the suspect was found sitting and eating near the complex toilet. When advised by the now-deceased security guard to find a suitable place to eat, the suspect became angry, took an okapi knife from his pocket and fatally stabbed the deceased in the neck and fled the scene.

The deceased was rushed to the Rundu State Hospital by police for medical attention, where he died upon arrival.

The suspect (20) is in police custody.

The next of kin is yet to be informed, and police investigations continue.
