The Minister of Works and Transport is satisfied with the progress made on both the Talismanus-Gobabis and Du Plessis Plaas to Epukiro Post 3 road upgrading to low volume seal standard.
John Mutorwa took a site visit to evaluate advancement on both roads under construction in the Omaheke Region.
The 8.7-kilometre stretch from Du Plessis Plaas to Epukiro Post 3 phase two road upgrade is set to be completed by next month.
Phase one of the 145-kilometre road of M0119 Talismanus is also at an advanced stage with site establishment and setting up of the bypass road for phase one, which is six kilometres long.
Mutorwa highlighted the significance of both roads to the country's economy and their ideal geographical location.
He also maintained that the government is fully committed through key stakeholders to ensure that both roads are completed as planned.
Omaheke Governor Pijoo Nganate stressed that the Talismanus-Gobabis Road is in a critical state and welcomed the decision to have it upgraded.
The regional engineering manager at the Roads Authority, Vernon du Preez, was optimistic the project would be completed in its stipulated time frame.
Mutorwa emphasised the importance of a good working rapport between stakeholders when it comes to key national projects to avoid unnecessary delays.
He also called on contractors to empower local residents through employment.
