The National Disability Council of Namibia (NSCN) has launched a new website with the aim of enhancing accessibility to the council and its activities.
The launch of the new website serves as a vital tool for promoting inclusion, serving as a main communication channel with real-time updates and information resources for stakeholders.
The development of the website enables recognition of persons with disabilities and mends stakeholder relationships.
NDCN will be able to engage and raise awareness on issues relating to disabilities, promoting the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities and fostering an inclusive environment for all.
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Disability Council of Namibia, Angelique Philander, emphasised the significance of digital platforms in advancing accessibility and transparency.
"The launch of this platform brings us a step closer to creating a barrier-free Namibia by 2032, a society where every individual has equal opportunities to thrive, participate, and contribute fully, regardless of their abilities."
The Executive Director in the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare, Ndiitah Nghipondoka-Robiati, acknowledged NDCN for the successful development and launch of the new website.
Nghipondoka-Robiati further congratulated NCDN for its tireless efforts and hard work in enhancing accessibility through a digital platform for effective communication and engagement with its stakeholders.
"It is our responsibility to make sure that accessibility is not an afterthought, very important, but the fundamental aspect of our digital infrastructure. We believe that by doing so, we foster our society that truly reflects the values of respect, equality, and compassion."
