The Khorixas Constituency office has trained 37 residents in backyard gardens to address food insecurity.

The residents also received start-up seeds and fruit trees.

The constituency office is responsible for Khorixas and five other areas around the town. With insufficient rain for the past 12 years, food security is a challenge, and the office has been trying to find ways to encourage community members to be food self-sufficient.

The constituency office will be following up on the gardens and motivating residents to continue gardening.

The residents welcomed the training.

At the same event, the Khorixas Boxing Academy received boxing materials worth N$50,000.

The academy has been playing a role in community upliftment by engaging young people in the sport.
