President Nangolo Mbumba says the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) are a reminder to act with purpose towards the elimination of gender-based violence in Namibia.

The 16 Days of Activism is an annual worldwide campaign with a spotlight on the impact of violence on women and children.

President Mbumba encourages victims to speak up as well.

"25th November marks the start of the 16 Days of Activism against GBV. This is our moment to make a difference by eliminating gender-based violence in our country and to stand together. Let us all say yes. Say yes to seeking help. Say yes to ending the silence and the hidden shame of being hurt by those we trust. Say yes to supporting those in need; silence is complacency. Let us all say yes to ending gender-based violence."
