Senior citizens received a meal, hygiene sessions, and gifts as part of the Otjinene Village Council's 10th anniversary celebrations.

The chairperson of the Otjinene village council, Lesley Kauandara, pointed out that it was the first time since the inception of the village council that they were hosting an elders' day celebration.

Kauandara says the gathering was an opportune time for them to take stock of the number of pensioners residing within the council boundaries for better planning.

He added that this will also allow the senior citizens to engage and share their experience regarding the development process at Otjinene.
