Minky's True Care Foundation treats elders

The senior medical officer of Keetmanshoop State Hospital, Dr. Lama Okitemungu, has encouraged the youth to tap into the knowledge and wisdom of the elders for the common good of the nation. 

Dr. Okitemungu further emphasises that society cannot grow without the older generation. 

He made the remarks on an occasion where close to forty senior citizens were treated to meals and the donation of food hampers.

Eveline Krohne, founder of Minky's True Care Foundation, made the occasion possible.

Senior Citizens of the Moses ||Garoeb Constituency in Katutura were treated to a day filled with appreciation and pampering. 

It was a hive of activity at the Max Mutongolume Community Hall in Havana as the elderly witnessed a tree-planting demonstration. 

The event, made possible by the Omkhai Namibia Trust was all about appreciating the elderly in the community. 

After the horticulture lesson, the elderly moved into the hall where they were presented with a winter blanket, a pair of warm socks and a hot water bottle.

Senior citizens at Walvis Bay receive a meal and shopping voucher for Christmas

About 1,000 senior citizens at Walvis Bay each received a meal and a shopping voucher valued at N$300 as their Christmas gift.

The event was hosted by the Mayor of Walvis Bay, Trevino Forbes.

For some time, it was a joyous Christmas as they reconnected with old friends they hadn't seen in a long time.

Forbes stated that the elderly's wisdom and advice benefit communities and that the event was a token of appreciation.
