In its effort to bring health services closer to the people, Omnicare Trust brought a mobile clinic to the Havanna U-Save area to provide essential healthcare services to the community of Havana in the city.

This initiative was made possible by a generous donation of N$670,000 courtesy of First National Bank.

Omnicare Trust has been operating mobile clinics to assist communities in the |Khomas and Otjozondjupa regions since 2018.

Due to support, they have been able to sustain operations in these regions.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Services, the mobile clinics charge a nominal fee of ten dollars for their services.

However, elderly patients with chronic illnesses and those requiring follow-ups receive care free of charge.

Additionally, the clinics offer free contraceptives and immunizations.

Speaking at the event, FirstRand Namibia's social investment manager, Revonia Job, highlighted the bank's commitment to corporate social responsibility.

"The FirstRand Namibia Foundation is our corporate social investment vehicle, the mechanism we use to give back to the communities in which we operate. Our focus areas include community and health development, which covers capacity development, education, financial literacy, environmental guardianship, arts and culture, and sports. Omnicare Trust falls under the community and health development flagship focus area, which is a very critical area. Under this, we support organizations like Omnicare Trust."

Omnicare Trust's Programme Coordinator, Sabine Rothauge, expressed gratitude to FNB for their vital support, which enables the mobile clinic to continue its impactful work.

However, she emphasized the need for additional donors to extend their reach to more communities nationwide.

"We are so grateful to FNB for sponsoring us because that is the reason why we can keep our doors open and have this truck standing here. That is the reason why you see all the people that you see here, and they do really need us. Like Revonia said, this is an essential service, and without this, people will not be able to have access to healthcare, and here the clinics are far, and this is something that they need, and we are so grateful to FNB that they have chosen us."

Community members who benefitted from the services shared their gratitude.
