The Rundu-Tsumkwe People's Foundation has donated 100 chairs and 50 mattresses to the Mangetti Dune Combined School hostel in the Tsumkwe Constituency.

The foundation aims to support the San community and vulnerable groups living in and around Rundu and Tsumkwe.

They visited the school in June to assess its shortcomings.

The chairperson of the foundation explained the purpose of the visit to Mangetti Dune.

Elizabeth Lucian, Chairperson of the Rundu-Tsumkwe People's Foundation, said, "Today we are here for two activities: as I mentioned, to donate to the school and, at the same time, to celebrate a little early Christmas. We want to uplift learners; we hope to see more students from your community complete their studies, and we also provide a little something after school. As I speak, we have graduates from our Trust: nurses, teachers; some are even working now in Grootfontein."

Eveline Nampahu, a representative of the foundation, highlighted its background.

"Rundu Fishing Company was established shortly after independence in 1992. It was later recognized that forming a foundation to assist Namibian communities, especially the less privileged, was imperative. From this idea, the Rundu-Tsumkwe Foundation was formed and became a shareholder of Rundu Fishing Company. As a company, we have a responsibility to contribute to the educational foundation of our learners and support the mandate of the Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture."

She further indicated that the foundation's focus is to help individuals from less privileged backgrounds achieve their potential, hoping this will significantly impact the lives of others.

A teacher from Mangetti Dune Combine School received the donation.
