Two of the six people struck by lightning on Friday in separate incidents in the Zambezi Region have died.
In the first occurrence, lightning struck two Zambian nationals along the Liselo-Linyanti Road.
They were identified as Sililo Ndumba, who died immediately, and Manyando Kanjungu, 41, who sustained injuries and was rushed to the Katima Mulilo State Hospital for medical attention.
Kanjungu told the nbc News team that the incident occurred on his way to Kalumba village with his friend Ndumba when it began raining, forcing them to look for shelter.
Authorities described his condition as stable, even though he was still in shock.
In the second incident, at around one o'clock in the Malengalenga area, three men, all identified as Namibian nationals, were also struck at the Dzoti riverside.
This resulted in the death of 34-year-old Joseph Siyanga, a resident of Masobelo village.
Those who survived are 32-year-old Naketo Mushaukwa and 30-year-old Likando Sikumba.
They received immediate medical attention at Katima Mulilo State Hospital.
The third incident took place in the Linyanti area at the riverside, at around the same time.
Family members brought 30-year-old Joseph Mumbula to the hospital, where he is reportedly in a stable condition.
