Kavango West Governor, Sirkka Ausiku, has described the late Founding President Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma as a man who was passionate about education, women empowerment, and agriculture, among many other things.

She said during Nujoma's leadership, all green schemes in the region were operating successfully.

Ausku made these remarks during a candle-lighting ceremony in honour of the late Founding President in Nkurenkuru on Monday.

Regional leadership, stakeholders, and the general community are also signing the book of condolence at the governor's office.

Ausiku said a regional memorial service is scheduled to take place in Kavango West, but the details will be announced at a later stage.

The last time the Founding President visited Kavango West was in 2023.
