The Mashi Traditional Authority leader, Fumu Joseph Tembwe Mayuni, has said the late Dr. Sam Nujoma leaves behind a legacy of unity, reconciliation, and freedom for all.
The Mashi Fumu made the remarks on Thursday at a memorial service held at the Mashi Traditional Authority in honour of the late Founding President.
Fumu Mayuni emphasized that the Namibian nation must be reminded at all times that Nujoma left the country to fight for the freedom and independence of its people from colonial occupation forever.
Mayuni, in a message read on his behalf, encouraged the current and future leaders of the country to continue uniting the nation, as envisioned by Dr. Sam Nujoma.
He said Namibia had lost a dedicated and principled leader who strived to unite all tribes in the country.
A veteran, Lukas Kulandata, known by his combat name, Situation, described the late Nujoma as having been born with leadership qualities.
Kalundata said as the nation mourns Nujoma, his vision and aspirations for Namibia should not be forgotten but be carried forward just as he wanted.
