The Roads Authority, the Road Fund Administration, and the Outapi Town Council have formalised their agreement to upgrade national and settlement roads in the Omusati Region by signing a Memorandum of Agreement.
The two-year agreement positions the three parties to upgrade sections of the main road to Ruacana, construct stormwater drainage systems and pavements, and enhance the capacity of the main roads from Outapi to Otsandi and Outapi to Okapalelona.
RFA Chief Executive Officer Ali Ipinge stated that the project will benefit both Outapi town and road users.
The signing of the agreement demonstrates the collective commitment to addressing development needs in urban areas, settlements, and villages.
Roads Authority Chief Executive Officer, Conrad Lutombi, expressed similar sentiments, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in road development.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Outapi, Selma Asino, thanked the RA and RFA for their support in the urgent need for road infrastructure improvements, especially in flood-prone towns.
The three parties committed to providing additional support for road development and maintenance, in line with Namibia's Vision 2030.
