The election and subsequent ascension to power of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah have given new credence to women in politics in Africa.

In Zambia, female presidents of opposition political parties are equally optimistic that Dr Nandi-Ndaitwah has set a new path for women in politics.

The opposition New Heritage Party President Chishala Kateka, who was among the presidential contenders in the last general elections of 2021, could not hold her joy and optimism.

She is not the only one in this part of the continent.

Her counterpart Saboi Imboela of the National Democratic Congress equally shares similar views.
