Newly appointed Prime Minister Dr. Elijah Ngurare has reaffirmed his commitment to youth empowerment, rural development, and upgrading informal settlements, key priorities he championed during his time in the Swapo Party Youth League.
In a social media post, Ngurare outlined plans to engage high-density communities, building on his past grassroots efforts. He recalled visits to constituencies like Okongo, Epukiro, Khorixas, and Berseba, as well as Katutura’s informal settlements, as examples of his hands-on approach.
As Prime Minister, he says this community engagement will remain central to implementing the Swapo Party’s 2025-2030 Election Manifesto, in line with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s vision.
Ngurare emphasised that job creation and economic empowerment must be direct outcomes of the manifesto’s execution. He stressed the need for essential services, roads, sanitation, water, and electricity to reach rural and informal areas.
Upcoming consultations will allow residents to voice concerns and help shape policies aimed at improving living conditions in Namibia’s informal settlements.
