The police have confirmed that six people died in a house fire at Usakos early this morning.

A grandmother, an adult woman, and four children lost their lives in the incident.

The police forensic team has arrived at the scene to investigate, as the cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage.

According to witnesses, only one room in the house was burnt, while the rest of the house remains intact.

Witnesses reported that two victims were burnt beyond recognition, while the remaining bodies might still be identifiable. 

Currently, there are no suspects, and police have only questioned those last seen with the deceased.

The police have removed the remains of the six people who died in a fire incident at the Hakaseb location in Usakos from the scene.

The remains are on the way to Windhoek for further investigation.
