The new Kavango West Governor, Verna Sinimbo, has said the region's success is dependent on collaborations and partnerships with various stakeholders.

She said this during her welcoming and official handover ceremony at Nkurenkuru on Friday.

Former Governor Sirkka Ausiku officially handed over power to Sinimbo, and the new governor says it's all hands on deck.

"Regional Council, Town Council, Regional Offices, Ministries, and Agencies; settlements; traditional authorities; churches; community-based organisations; and the residents of Kavango West. By fostering unity, teamwork, and a shared vision, we can accelerate development, address socio-economic challenges, and create lasting opportunities for our people."

Sinimbo also shared what some of her priorities will be during her tenure.

"I will prioritise inclusive engagement, open communication, and a results-driven approach to governance. I will work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that policies are implemented effectively, resources are allocated responsibly, and development initiatives reach the communities that need them the most."

Chairperson of the Kavango West Regional Council, Josef Sivaku, called on the regional leadership to rally behind Sinimbo.
