Swakop Uranium has donated essential equipment for community policing and crime prevention initiatives in Walvis Bay, valued at N$139,000. 

The donation includes computers, a laptop, printers, and gazebos. 

During the handover, Police Inspector General Joseph Shikongo emphasized that community policing and crime prevention are top priorities for the police force.

 He noted that the technological equipment would significantly enhance the police's ability to manage and process crime-related data. 

Shikongo also underscored that combating crime is a collective responsibility.

 He stated, "Your contributions are making a significant impact on the lives of our officers and the communities they serve. We assure you that these resources will be put to good use in our duty to preserve the internal

 security

 of our country, maintain law and order, investigate offenses or alleged offenses, prevent crime, and protect life and property." 

He expressed that through such partnerships, they can build a safer Namibia, where businesses thrive and residents can live without fear. 

Erongo Governor Neville Andre highlighted the region's vision for a future where families can walk the streets without fear and children can play freely. 

"Let us embrace the spirit of collaboration. With the commitment of our police, the support of the private sector, and the involvement of our community, I am confident that we can make the Erongo Region a safer place for everyone." 

The CEO of Swakop Uranium, Luo Wei, stated that the donation represents the company's commitment to enhancing community welfare and contributing to the region's social development.
