The Oshikoto Region has experienced significant damage to homes and mahangu fields due to heavy rain and flooding from neighboring Angola.
According to Oshikoto Governor Sacky Kathindi, the constituencies of Oniipa, Olukonda, Omuntele, and Onayena have been particularly hard hit.
Aerial views of the affected areas reveal widespread damage, leaving many residents in need of government assistance to survive until the next rainy season, as their mahangu fields remain submerged.
About 20 villages across these four constituencies are still awaiting intervention from the regional council for food and other essential services that are currently inaccessible.
